Description:
Our client has openings for experienced Requirements Engineers to join our team.

The Requirements Engineer works with clients and business partners to understand their business needs, vision, and strategy. The Requirements Engineer translates the business needs into functional and non-functional requirements for implementation by the software development team and for acceptance testing. The Requirements Engineer is the primary documenter and reviewer of requirements during the gathering phase to maintain quality, consistency, and thoroughness. The Requirements Engineer defines the foundation for product development after thorough analysis by capturing detailed descriptions of user needs and functional processes required to develop or modify a software product. The Requirements Engineer responsibilities include working with business analysts and/or user representatives to collect, track, manage, oversee functional and non-functional requirements, and prioritization of these requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

* A minimum of 10 years experience is required.
* Bachelor’s degree
* Possess a comprehensive knowledge on best practices of the requirements process and the entire software development life-cycle.

Summary of functional responsibilities:

* Gather current client business practices and needs to develop in depth functional and non functional requirements.
* Elicit requirements via interviews, documents, and business analysis.
* Pursue and document detail for high-level business and user needs.
* Write detailed descriptions of user needs and processes.
* Manage client relationships and expectations during the requirements gathering phase.
* Ensure the project team, including: engineers, architects, quality assurance analysts, documentation specialists, and business analysts have clear, consistent, and testable requirements.
* Translate business problems into product and technology visions. Ensure that translated visions are in precise detail to support business requirements.
* Act as primary writer and analyst on several projects simultaneously.
* Provide guidance on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the project objectives.
* Define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints and other non functional requirements.

Experience requirements:

* Specialized experience using requirements modeling methodology, such as UML, is highly desired.
* Proficiently dealt with clients at the business level, and with development teams at the technical level.
* Adeptly tailored and applied to a situation any acquired skills on requirements management principles and best practices.
* Authored Functional Requirements Documents and Technical Requirements Documents, and other system life cycle documentation.
* Managed documentation for more than one project and meet deadlines.
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools
* Act independently under minimum supervision in all aspects of work.
* Demonstrate proven leadership skills in providing technical and administrative counsel to peers, including the review of work products for correctness and consistency.
* Provide advanced technical and analytical techniques based on client requirements.

Security Clearance:

Persons who fill this position will be required to secure and retain a Top Secret clearance. Active TS clearance is preferred. Additionally, persons who fill this position will be required to satisfactorily complete a Background Investigation to determine suitability for employment at Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Current/Active CBP BI is preferred.
