Mgr, Corporate Procurement (IT)

Senior Buyer:
Location: Chicago

Provide procurement, technical and financial expertise in support of overall operations. Individual will be managing a team responsible for establishing enterprise-wide contracts for Information Technology and Telecommunication goods & services for Our client Corporate Procurement.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Summary Continued:

Create purchasing strategies to optimize cross-divisional purchases of IT and Telecom. Evaluate, manage and implement initiatives to optimize performance of Corporate Procurement and the extended procurement staff. Perform analysis of our client’s expenditures to evaluate total cost of ownership. Maintain a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to promote positive working relationships inside and outside of our clients.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

* Develop and manage corporate-wide contracts for IT & Telecom contracts for goods and services, IT Consulting, and Technology rollout support
* Manage third party relationships for Telecom Expense Management & Provisioning
* Utilize procurement system technologies to reduce the total cost of goods and services.
* Lead business process initiatives to increase productivity, quality and effectiveness.
* Lead cross-functional teams executing strategic sourcing projects.
* Facilitate supplier selection and negotiate contracts for key strategic initiatives.
* Direct the formation and maintenance of strategic alliances with key suppliers to create a highly automated and efficient supply chain system.
* Direct the work of extended procurement staff to improve day-to-day interaction with vendors.
* Drive internal customers to identify and implement business process improvements.
* Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal issues.
* Assure internal controls are adequate and followed in order to protect assets.
* Ability to travel as necessary.

Position Requirements/Skills & Abilities:

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

* 5-7 years job-related work experience.
* Strong familiarity with procurement technology
* Experience preparing and presenting complex topics to senior executives
* Significant experience developing corporate-wide strategic plans
* Experience leading cross-functional business teams
* High degree of judgment and ingenuity required to deal with complex factors.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

* Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or equivalent.
* Experience with all MS Office, Sharepoint, and Peoplesoft
* Strong understanding of finance and Total Cost modeling
